How Rough Trade Events Work

How tickets, albums and entry work at Rough Trade events

What this article covers

This article explains how Rough Trade events usually work, including in-store events, live performances, signings, Q&As and outstore events.

Rough Trade event tickets are sold through DICE. Some events include a physical product, such as an LP or CD, while others may be general entry only. Always check the event listing and your ticket details, as the format can vary by event, venue and artist.

Buying your ticket

To attend a Rough Trade event, you’ll usually need to book through the DICE app or website.

Your event listing will show:

  • the date, time and venue

  • whether the event is in-store or at another venue

  • whether your ticket includes an album, CD or other product

  • whether the product is collected at the event or posted to you

  • any event-specific notes, such as signing details or accessibility information

If there are no general entry tickets listed, you usually won’t be able to buy entry without the album or CD bundle.

If your ticket includes an album or CD

Some Rough Trade events are built around a ticket and album bundle. This means your event entry also includes the listed physical product.

Depending on the event, your album or CD may be:

  • given to you when your ticket is scanned at the venue

  • posted to the delivery address connected with your booking

  • supplied in a different way if the event listing explains this clearly

If the product is being collected at the event, it is normally handed out when you arrive and check in. Please bring a bag, especially for vinyl.

If the product is being posted, Rough Trade may send a fulfilment or tracking email once it is on the way.

What to do on the day

Before you travel, check your DICE ticket or event page for the latest door time, stage time and venue details.

When you arrive:

  1. Open your DICE ticket in the app.

  2. Follow the app instructions to show or activate your ticket.

  3. Let the event team scan your ticket at check-in.

  4. If your ticket includes a collected album or CD, collect it when you check in.

For some DICE events, the QR code can only be activated close to the event time. Once activated, you may no longer be able to transfer the ticket to someone else, so only activate it when you are ready to use it.

If you bought tickets for a group and you are arriving together, you may be able to show the tickets on one device. Check the DICE app and event details for the latest guidance.

If your vinyl or CD is being posted

If your ticket includes postage, your product will be sent to the delivery address linked to the event purchase.

If you have received a tracking email but the tracking has not updated, allow a little time for the carrier to scan the parcel. If the item still has not arrived 7 working days after the postage date, contact us so we can look into it.

When you get in touch, include:

  • the event name and date

  • the email address used for the DICE booking

  • the ticket holder’s name

  • the product and quantity you expected

  • your delivery address

  • any tracking number you have

This helps us find the event product even if you do not have a standard Rough Trade order number.

Accessibility requests

For accessibility requests, including seating, wheelchair access or companion/PA tickets, contact DICE as soon as possible through dice.fm/contact.

For companion tickets, contact DICE, who may ask for the event name, event date, your requirements and supporting access documentation. If the event is at an outstore venue, DICE may pass the request to the venue, or the venue may need to help directly.

Accessible seating and companion spaces can be limited, especially for sold-out events, so it is best to request support as early as you can.

If you can’t attend

If you can no longer attend, check your options in the DICE app first.

Depending on the event, you may be able to:

  • transfer your ticket to a friend

  • use the DICE Wait List, if it is available for that event

  • request help from DICE if the event has been cancelled or rescheduled

If your ticket included a record or CD and you still want to claim it, contact the Rough Trade store or support team after the event. We’ll help where possible, but options can depend on the event, stock availability and whether the product was due to be collected or posted.

If something doesn’t look right

Contact us if:

  • your posted event product has not arrived

  • your tracking has not updated after several days

  • the format or quantity you received is wrong

  • your event product was not available on the night

  • you need help identifying the Rough Trade order connected to a DICE booking

The quickest way to get help is through online chat. You can also email [email protected] if needed.
